Litha’s Song: A Summer Solstice Poem by The Way of Vibrantly

Litha’s Song
A poem by The Way of Vibrantly

The sun covers us today a luxurious blanket of light.
The warmth on our skin burrows it’s face within to bring voice to our gratitude.

Thank you sun for your gifts on this longest day of the year.
For the nurturing to our gardens and our ecosystems, our sustenance and our homes.

Furthest from the darkest time of the year, we reflect on our efforts through the months of shorter days.

Stand tall on the land you steward. Notice the elements around you that dance to the sun’s song:
the earth and the water breathing off the transpiration of the trees into the sky above.

The fire of our soul shining through us with the sun becoming one,
and the wind around us clearing thoughts of stagnation, reminding of movement and change.

In Hawaii, by the ocean, we can feel the four elements converging all around as water splashing,
wind rushing or settling, and the sun’s fire baking into our feet from the earth below.

Wherever we are, we can take a moment to give prayer. We honor you sacred sun, bringer of heat to warm our hearth.
You who shine the light of hope, guiding our families and ancestors before us.

We feel you sacred sun, within us and around us, illuminating our path:
the pure light of being to guide us in remembering our connection to all beings.

Each step we take in this life, guided by your light within, is also returning us to our true home,
to remember the We that dances and shouts like a roaring fire within us.

Or your voice lying still and small within us, gently reminding us of our power,
calling us to our true self.

Returning us to our strength when we need it, releasing the shackles that might hold us back,
that we may reveal our light within us for all to see.

And so we pray and we listen, singing with sacred sun,
Litha’s song.

In harmony, melody, and holding hands with all the people of the world,
connecting to all beings in vibrant oneness. So mote it be.
